my story
Since I'm asking to tell your story,
it's only natural that you would want to know mine.
I was born, raised and currently reside in the southwest suburbs of Chicago where my husband and I are raising our three amazing kids with our two very large dogs
(I'm talking small pony sized...no joke).
They are definitely the inspiration for everything I do.
They inspire me to document the story of life whether it be mine, theirs or yours.
A little more about me...
Photography has always been a love of mine. How amazing is the gift of freezing a moment in time?
This really touched me when I came across old photos packed away in an unassuming brown box in my grandparent's closet. This box humbly held generations of stories; moments that were frozen in time and left to be found by future generations. Some were falling apart, some in impeccable condition, but all of them gave me a glimpse into a world I would have never seen without photography.
Back when I was a new mom, I would borrow an old Nikon to try to take better photos of my girls, but after my son was born in 2015, I decided I wanted to learn more. I finally bought my own DSLR in 2015 and started taking online courses. I practiced on my kids and family, then friends started asking, referrals started to pour in through word of mouth, and now clients are finding me through social media and search engines. Over the last few years, this hobby has transformed into my own small business that I'm so proud of.
My goal is to continue building Katie Lynn Photography LLC. I plan to share my passion by capturing your experiences. This isn't something stagnant where you stand in a certain spot and look a certain way the entire session. We'll grab a few portraits because those have their place, but it's not the main goal in my sessions. When you look back at these photos I want you to remember how you felt at that moment in your life. That's why we relax, chat, enjoy, play and have fun, so I can capture the feelings, laughs, and moments that tell your family's story.
